Coming together like Yin and Yang

On Saturday night, the 11th of May, Luna and I attended an 18th birthday party of a two friends of ours. We were asked to take photos of their special night, to commemorate, not only their 18th year on this planet but their friendship that they have shared since the day they were born. Happy belated birthday to our friends, Andrew and Tony.

The night was quite spontaneous with various activities provided by the host themselves. This night was actually challenging for us because we have not had much experience the flash. Taking photos, trying to get the flash bounce off the roof to give a nice light fill to the photos. It was quite fun trying though and looking forward to using the flash in the near future.

The theme of this party was Yin-Yang where everywhere you look, majority of what you see was black and white, even the birthday boys were wearing black and white. There is not much words I can explain this night aside from saying it was an enjoyable night, celebrating with these beings and sharing to us their touching story. Here are the photos!

Always have HOPE in the most definite situations

As you can see, HOPE is the main theme in this shoot/project along with some sub-themes that interlinked. As Luna mentioned [hope you guys saw the post Luna put up introducing herself not too long ago] we have another shoot on the 22nd of this month, so I wanted to get this up before then.

This is exactly like the shoot I did for Ly except it was set out in the Royal Botanic Garden at the city. This was a birthday gift again for another friend whom I've known since Kindergarten and I normally not know what to get her. ALSO, she wanted to do a shoot and visit the gardens, so I took great advantage of it too! This was the first time I did the shoot with Luna since during the time I did Ly's shoot, Luna was overseas in Taiwan and Vietnam. Perhaps, she may like to post some of her photos she had taken during the time period (I honestly loved many of the shots she had taken).

Okay, moving on, Amy is also a friend who attended the same school as Luna and I. She has an artistic flair and loves the fashion industry. So, I left the outfit picking up to her as well -- I told her something that nice, sweet, elegant. Unfortunately, in her enormous collection of clothes, she couldn't find anything, so she bought her outfit on the day, along with our help. Alright, onwards to the photographs.

Before you go on, Luna and I spent an hour walking in the gardens before Amy came to accumulate ideas on what kind of scenes we could shoot. It was a good way to see what kind of photos you are trying to aim for.
I'm only posting up photos that Luna has edited for me -- I couldn't edit the photos myself because of my assessments. See how handy it is to have a partner! Makes the photography experience fun!

Why not post something whilst buried under paper?

I decided to post one of my projects I did back in January that I did as a birthday present for one of my friends whom known for 12 years. So, during the time, my friend and I were discussing themes to present that I will try to portray within the area I lived in. It was both for our convenience since it was a humid day and it was too tiring to go out to the city for it.

So, I gave the choice of picking whatever outfit my friend would like to wear, however she hated me for this because she had so many choices to choose from. We had several themes we wanted to portray but we only got through four which were lonesome child, sexy, elegant and sporty. I decided to sum up it all up in Young, Wild and Free.

Since it was a humid day and it rained that day, the sun came out beautifully but the humidity was killing us, but my friend had to change her outfit  a couple of times so she most likely had it worse off more than I did. Enough of me waffling on, here are the photographs.
