Here and there.

My first semester at uni is just around the corner, meaning posting on this blog will take me a while. These days I've been a bit lazy to do anything since I've been wanting to rest and have a bit of fun before I start uni. I will eventually post up one of my projects that I did just under a month ago, though and perhaps some of the fun stuff I've done over the 6 months.

Whilst waiting and if you have instagram, why not take a peek?

Valentine's Day project.

So, as mentioned before in my previous post -- I was working on a project. The post title says it.

Sometime near the end of January, I was talking to a friend telling them I wanted to make roses for the group and it resulted in making 230 roses in 8 days time. I started on the 4th of February and finished on the 12th. I didn't think I would make it but I guess I was being tenacious and consistent the whole way, along with some unwanted but enjoyable distractions.

My materials were assorted coloured origami paper (that can be bought from daiso or online), as well as some A4 coloured paper that I happened to have, garden wire and small metal/aluminium buckets. Since I was making for about 10 people, I had to buy ten buckets, more than 150 sheets of origami paper and two 50 metres garden wire. Roughly under $50 I'd say.

I barely asked for help in this, especially because the ones I would usually ask were the ones who I was giving the roses to.

So, I trialed and and error'ed before to see how many roses I would need and it turns out 23 roses fits. The origami size paper was the best size to work with since I was trying to work with A4 size square and they were too big.

Why greetings!

Hello children of the earth!

I've decided to put up a blog to post my small projects here and there throughout this year -- projects mainly that fall under the photography category.

Shall I introduce myself? Oh why yes, I should.

Alright, so the name is Marie.
Currently an undergraduate student at UTS.
These past few months, I've taken a keen interest in photography and now has become a constant hobby. Absolutely hold no interest in getting a job within the photography industry but it'd be nice to have as a side job, no?

I also play the guitar and recently started to learn the piano.
I mainly listen to JPOP, a bit of KPOP -- very little and sometime English.

I shall stop here and continue on with my project that is due the day before Valentine's. The night or day after Valentine's I will reveal what I've been working on.
Self-portrait of me at Anish Kapoor's exhibition.
Adieu everyone!
